EVOLVING STRATEGIES
This week’s opportunity to evolve your strategy
A simple but effective digital sales strategy, to successful increase sales
To grow sales on your website it doesn’t have to be a complicated plan. Especially for digital, you want a simple plan that works, it’s easy to manage and execute. Keeping it simple can be just as effective like other successful entrepreneurs that make millions each year running a 1-2 person business.
Start with your customers, and work your way backwards in your plan for them to buy your products.
Build a community on social media
Share valuable information
Build an email list (social media is not reliable because its not owned by you)
Share more valuable advice with more details in your newsletter (this gives your audience a bit of exposure of what you offer)
In your newsletter offer services and products that your audience can buy on your website.
This is easy to manage, especially as you’re starting out. And even as you grow, bring it back to this which makes it easier to keep things simple and keep the business growing at low costs.
How to apply this:
What you should takeaway and apply to your digital sales strategy:
Have a simple website
Focus on the customer
Keep executing and testing to improve
Have a simple website
Your website is your digital home and every business should have one. Even if it’s a simple one, have one that can house all your offers, details about your business, testimonials and contact information.
I use Carrd and they provide great layouts that look professional and are easy to update.
Focus on the customer
As you build out your digital strategy focus on the customer being at the centre. What problem of theirs are you trying to solve?
Start with that and make some adjustments. Expand into finer details that continue to focus on solving that one customer problem.
Always keep the customer as the foundation of your strategy and you can’t go wrong.
Keep executing and testing to improve
Essential for a website is to regularly AB test and continue to make improvements. This keeps you competitive and allows you to adapt to the changing environment of digital.
A few AB testing ideas to get started with:
Copy on your home page
“Above the fold” section of information
CTA placement and copy
Imagery that show the products and services
The customer journey
Checkout flow
AB testing is important to keep your website up to date and continuously optimizing for changes. Keep in mind though you want to test to learn and add value. Do no test for the sake of testing, think about the end result you’re looking for.
