EVOLVING STRATEGIES

This week’s opportunity to evolve your strategy

Determine your current business position before strategy planning

What your business should do before strategy planning:

Before you jump straight into strategy planning, you need to understand the current position of your business. By knowing the challenges, weaknesses and opportunities; this allows you to create an effective digital sales strategy. Without knowing having the data and insights, your strategy is more of a gamble and the likelihood of it's success goes down.

Data driven decision making is important to provide the facts and insights that allow you to plan an effective strategy. This comes with understanding what factors are affecting the growth of your business and you can gather this from customers and your analytics team.

How to apply to your digital sales strategy:

  1. Do an analysis of your business

  2. Understand outside factors

  3. Data driven decision making

  4. Ask the right questions

  5. Regularly review your strategy

Do an analysis of your business

Always do an analysis of the current state of your business. Run a brainstorm session of everything you're business should consider as potential issues. Consider everything, from policies, products, technology, services etc.

What are the factors that are effecting the growth of your sales? What's slowing it down?

Understand outside factors

It's not just the internal factors that affect your sales, there are external factors as well. We keep hearing about AI and ChatGPT becoming increasingly popular as an AI tool. Learn it, understand how it works and see how you can use it to your support your business' growth.

Make a list of everything affecting your business, from environmental factors to regulation changes and competitive updates.

Data driven decision making

Using data to direct the decisions you make for your business and strategy leads to better success.

It allows you to validate the path you're taking, easier to make a decision and understand the impact of each opportunity.

Ask the right questions

  1. What are the issues my business is facing?

  2. What are customers saying about my business?

  3. What are the biggest challenges that keep repeating itself?

Asking the right questions gives you the information you need.

Regularly review your strategy

The digital landscape is constantly changing and innovating, which means your strategy from a year ago may not be effective. Instead review your strategy every 6 months or at the very least every year.

See if there are changes happening internally or externally, and be ready to adjust so it's the most up to date to drive sales.
