Digital sales strategy of how your site is cost effective
Running a business has never been easier or cheaper than with the age of digital. You can easily setup a website, add a custom URL and setup easy payment methods to receive money for your services. Digital has leveled the playing field for small businesses and large organizations a like. It’s made it cost effective to run a business from the comfort of your home and still bring in enough revenue to be successful.
Your business has easy access to customers by easily setup social media platforms, connecting with consumers and building an audience of fans. These are individuals that will buy your products, make recommendations to friends and share your business as much as possible.
You can run your business for less than $10000 a year, and still bring in revenue of $100K or more.
You’re a graphic designer in the business for many years, and you decide to start something on the side. Start a small business that can bring in additional income, while also give you the freedom to create beautiful designs for customers.
So how do you setup your business?
Open a simple website with a customized URL.
You connect your social media profiles that already have a decent following of people looking to buy your services.
Integrate a payment system into your website and shop platform so consumers can buy with no hassle.
You setup your shop, open for business and announce on your social media platforms.
So how do you do this at the lowest cost?
How to apply this:
What you should takeaway and apply to your digital sales strategy:
Carrd - Website Hosting
Beehiiv - Free newsletter
OneNote / Notion - Free content
Asana - Project management
Stripe - Payment integration platform
Carrd
One of the simplest website hosting platforms that allows you to easily setup your site in 10 minutes. There are many templates to choose from that have been beautifully designed, making it easier to upload content and have your site go live.
There is a free option, but to have access to most of the features, it’s a $19 fee for one year. That’s 4 Starbucks lattes to have a website.
Beehiiv
Beehiiv allows you to easily integrate into many website hosting platforms, Carrd being one of them. Have your consumers sign up to get the latest news, content and offers for your business.
Free for the first 3000 subscribers, than it’s $49/month.
A low cost with tons of data and analytics that allows you understand what content your audience wants to see. Easily grow your audience list with tons of great features that make it a go to.
OneNote / Notion
OneNote is great for note taking, saving docs into, tracking meet notes. Use it a virtual notebook with many options to full personalize to your needs. Have multiple notebooks if you need based on your business needs. Buy the entire Microsoft Office which includes OneNote for $69.99.
Notion allows you to create charts, planning docs, content strategy docs, take notes and pretty much do almost anything with it as a virtual notebook. The cost is free to use and there’s an app that you can download to see while on the go.
Asana
Project management tools are a great way to stay on top of deadlines, assign tasks to other team members, take notes and upload docs. There is a free version but to access all features you can pay $10.49/month.
Stripe
Stripe allows you to easily collect payments from customers without having to chase anyone. You can have customers pay before you provide services. It easily integrates into most websites, and they take a small fee based on each sale. Standard option is 2.9% + 0.30 per transaction.
If you had 1000 sales per month that would be a fee of $329.
$19 + ($49Ă—12) + $29.99 + ($10.49Ă—12) + (329Ă—12) = $4692.87
Consider the Stripe fees will vary based on number of sales, but the more sales the higher the fee. You also receive higher revenue. For an entire year your business total cost is $4692.87 and a portion of this is only paid when you bring in sales.
Reduce your cost operations by leveraging these tools, and running your business online.
